This home had a long, above-ground discharge hose to drain water from the sump pump which was causing a headache for the homeowners every time they mowed their lawn and also a fear that the water would freeze and backup into their basement during the winter months. To fix these issues, we buried the discharge hose underground and installed an IceGuard® Discharge Line System.

The IceGuard System fits over the top of your discharge line to provide water with a secondary escape route. When the main line is working correctly, water simply flows out as usual. However, when the discharge line is frozen, the IceGuard® allows water to escape through slotted openings in the drain pipe. This ensures that any water your sump pump is removing from your basement is safely cleared away outside your home, preventing any backed up or frozen lines.

The drainage system includes a wall flange to capture wall seepage and direct it into a new, properly sized SuperSump® system, which features a durable liner, airtight lid, and high-capacity pump designed for long-term performance in Wisconsin basements. The crew tied the WaterGuard system into the SuperSump basin and extended the discharge line to carry water safely away from the foundation, then carefully re-poured concrete over the trench to restore a clean, finished floor edge while delivering a reliable interior drainage system basement solution for Wisconsin homes.
