Basement Walls Stabilized & Rim Joists Sealed to Eliminate Rodent Infestation in Sheboygan, WI

Challenge

Gary and his wife Teressa were currently facing a challenge with squirrels and chipmunks gaining access to their basement and creating a mess with various tree nuts scattered across the top of the drop ceiling. The issue was being caused by walls of their basement that were deflecting inwards, creating gaps between the walls and the basement ceiling. Not only were the gaps, allowing rodents to enter the home, it was also allowing for cold air to enter, causing discomfort. The homeowners wanted to get the issues fixed so they could enjoy the home, and make sure they weren't passing on the issues to their grandchildren.

Solution

To stabilize the bowing basement walls, we installed GeoLock Wall Anchors which attach to the wall, and connect to the stable, hard-packed soil beyond the home. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. Where outside access to the foundation walls was hindered, we were able to utilize our patented PowerBrace Wall Repair System to secure and straighten the walls. After the walls were stabilized, RimTight Joint Insulation was sprayed onto the floor joists to ensure all gaps were sealed. These repairs will not only prevent critters from entering the home, but will alleviate drafts. The homeowners also elected to have a new TripleSafe Sump Pump System with battery back-up installed to prevent future water issues,

The homeowners are now able to experience a sense of peace and security knowing that their walls have been permanently stabilized and are accompanied by a warranty. They can now comfortably occupy the first floor without the intrusion of pests and have the added reassurance that their foundation has been professionally repaired.
