Foundation and Basement Repair Solves Flooding Basement in Athens, WI

Challenge

Charles and his wife have lived in the home for many years, and they are now getting to the point where they are getting things ready for when it’s time to sell. The wall in the basement had been slowly failing for years and got to the point where they thought, if it didn’t get fixed it would have to get replaced. If a prospective buyer saw the condition of the current wall, there’s no way they would be able to sell the home.

After inspection, it was determined that the north and east walls of the new addition were in severe stage 3 of wall failure. There were severe cracks, over 4 inches of inward deflection and shearing occurring.

Solution

Sure-Dry was able to straighten the walls and permanently stabilize them with our Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System. The crew excavated the outside of the walls down to the footing. Once that was done, they were able to straighten the walls, seal and waterproof the outside of the walls, and then permanently stabilize the walls with our Geo-Lock wall anchors. In addition, we installed our SuperSump Plus Premier Sump Pump System along with our WaterGuard Drainage System to prevent future flooding.

Now that the walls are straightened and carry a 25-year transferrable warranty, they will be able to sell the home without having to worry about losing significant value due to the failing walls.
