Egress Window Installed, and Basement Foundation and Water Issues Fixed in Appleton, WI

Challenge

These homeowners wanted to look at having an egress window installed so they could have an emergency exit if a basement bedroom was added and they also wanted to increase the value of their home. They had an idea of where in their basement they wanted to have the egress window installed but after inspection, it was determined that the location they were looking at wouldn't work, as it would disrupt too much of their already finished basement, and a secondary location wouldn't work as it would encroach on the driveway above. They were able to find a 3rd location that would work perfectly. During the inspection, Sure-Dry's Design Specialist did find a few existing issues with the foundation deflecting inward and the homeowners also brought up some water issues they had to constantly deal with every time it rained. They weren't sure if their current sump pump was working correctly and there was a persistent musty smell they had to deal with.

Solution

In addition to finding a perfect spot to install the new egress window, Sure-Dry was also able to provide a solution for stabilizing the deflecting basement walls, and eliminating the existing water and moisture issues. GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed to stabilize the wall and protect the driveway above from any future damage from the foundation shifting, and our WaterGuard Drainage System and CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System were installed to effectively eliminate any water entering their basement but collecting and disposing of it with their current sump pump. The homeowners were impressed with the thoroughness of our approach and were excited that the project was within their budget with the flexible financing options. The solutions provided, not only solve their current issues but will also help to prevent future ones.
