Drainage System Solves Basement Flooding in Green Bay, WI

Challenge

Mike and Andrea encountered water damage to their entertainment area in the lower level of their home, which led them to plan a remodeling project. However, during the renovation process, they discovered that the flooring had cracks and moisture problems. After considering various options, they entrusted Sure-Dry to address the water issue based on our reputation for honesty, positive reviews, and credibility. The drain tile on the western side of their home was unable to channel water to the sump, resulting in seepage through a cold joint, causing damage to the LVP flooring, carpeting, drywall, and trim.

Solution

The homeowners had a problem with water seeping into their basement and damaging their belongings. To fix this issue, Sure-Dry installed a WaterGuard Drainage and bleeder line system. Sure-Dry's IceGuard system was also installed over the top of the discharge line, providing water with an alternative escape route. In normal conditions, water flows out of the main line without any obstruction. However, in case of a frozen discharge line, the IceGuard system allows water to escape through slotted openings in the drain pipe, preventing any potential damage. The WaterGuard runs along the entire west side of the house and around the corners of the north and south walls, while the bleeder lines follow the existing floor cracks to capture any water under the floor and direct it to the new Super Sump Plus Sump Pump System located at the southwest corner. The sump pump was then connected to a buried discharge that joins an existing lateral connection.

Before the installation, the homeowner removed the flooring and drywall in the work area. The project was completed efficiently, and the homeowners were very satisfied with the outcome. They can now confidently remodel their basement without worrying about water damage, which was a great relief for them.
