Wet Basement Issues Resolved with New Sump Pump & Drainage System in Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Challenge

These homeowners moved into their 48 years ago, and have been living with a water problem in their basement for 43 of those years!  They are nearing retirement and according to them are, “old enough to not have to deal with it any longer.” For the last 43 years whenever it rains a significant amount, the homeowners would have to squeegee and/or shop vac water in their basement; they were both sick of the long nights cleaning up the water.  They would have to make sure “someone was home” when bad weather was in the forecast. 

After speaking with a friend who used to have the exact same problem, until he had Sure-Dry fix it…permanently! He was convinced, and called Sure-Dry for an estimate. His friend told him after Sure-Dry fixed his problem that he “only sweeps dust in the basement now!”  

Solution

The homeowners met with System Design Specialist, Allan, to learn what caused this water intrusion and how Sure-Dry would permanently address their concerns.  Allan worked to design a water control system that focused on the trouble areas, as well as protect the rest of the basement from having any water come in.  While they would have loved to do the full perimeter all at once, they worked with Allan to come up with a solution that met their immediate needs & budget yet still be able to sleep through the night without having to squeegee and/or shop vac water in their basement!  After securing an installation, they worked to make room for Sure-Dry to do the work by moving their belongings away from the area and working with an electrician to install a proper dedicated outlet for the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System to be installed, along with a WaterGuard Drainage System.

The homeowners were particularly happy with Allan’s ability to work with them to design a system that would address their concerns, yet work within their budget. They liked the fact that Sure-Dry could simply “add-on” to the system as needed in the future, but were able to initially install the vital pieces to address their immediate concerns.

On day of installation, the homeowners were quite impressed with the crew’s efficiency and dedication to his project – he could not believe how hard they were working, and the amount of work they were accomplishing in the small amount of time. He was very pleased with the crew ability to work together, and was grateful for the cleanup that was performed throughout the project. They could not wait for the rain to come, in order to test his newly installed system.
