Water and Air Quality Control in Bancroft, WI

Challenge

The basement of this home in Bancroft, WI had water coming into the basement from between the foundation footing and basement walls.  Due to hydrostatice pressure from the wet soil surrounding the foundation, water was finding its way in through the basement floor also.  Because of the water, these homeowners were also having mold and midlew issues in the basement, and were having to deal with that "basement smell". 

Solution

To collect and drain the water coming into the basement, Sure-Dry Basement Systems installed their WaterGuard® system.  The WaterGuard® system collects water that seeps through basement walls and drains it to your sump pump. The system installs quickly and has a clean finished appearance, meaning you don't have to worry about having an unsightly drain around the basement. 

To discharge the water being collected by the WaterGuard system, Sure-Dry installed their TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System.  For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. In case of a power outage, our UltraSump® battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level, will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery!

Finally, to deal with the mold and mildew and eliminate the "basement smell", Sure-Dry installed an Aprilaire Dehumidifier.  The Aprilaire removes odors, prevents mold and stops mildew growth.  It provides durability being designed for a long life in damp basement conditions, and offers ultimate convenience by connecting to your existing water drain system, so there's no need to constantly empty water!
