Repairing the Past for the Next Generation in Antigo, WI

Challenge

 A family in Antigo built their retirement home fifteen years ago, but hydrostatic pressure and frost had put lateral pressure on the block walls, cracking and bowing two walls, as well as causing seepage along the bottom of the wall. In addition to continued wall failure and water intrusion, there was a constant mustiness throughout both finished and unfinished areas. These homeowners were preparing to move to a smaller home and couldn’t bear the thought of burdening their children with a house with major defects.

Solution

Together, our crew and I put together a repair design that addressed both structural and water issues. Our Geo Lock Anchor System stabilized the 50’ wall, providing recovery back to true over time. The Water Guard and Super Sump handled the water at the cold joint, where the wall and floor meet. The Aprilaire 1850 Dehumidifier was put in to reduce odors and prevent mold throughout the nearly 2000 sq. ft. basement.
