Reclaiming Basement Space in Marshfield, WI

Challenge

When a family in Marshfield, WI purchased their house, there were a few cracks in the poured wall foundation where a little water leaked through. Over the years, the water volume increased. They tried to waterproof these ugly breaks by brushing on a coating, but as they discovered, hydrostatic pressure will always ultimately defeat fillers and sealants. Now there were new leaks and the old cracks were even more active. The primary problem with this increased water intrusion is that they could no longer trust their basement for dry storage and had to tear out the drywall in a finished exercise room.

Solution

I put together a permanent solution to keep the entire basement perimeter dry using our patented Water Guard. We connected the circuit with our Trench Drain in front of their hot water heater and water softener and around boiler pipes, adding additional floor surface drainage in the event of a plumbing leak.

By investing in a permanent water control solution, this family reclaimed over 1300 square feet of basement space that they paid for when they bought their home.
