Settled Concrete Patio & Driveway Lifted & Stabilized in Oshkosh, WI
Challenge
These homeowners in Oshkosh were concerned that their back patio was settling and had gotten a lot worse over the past few years. They really wanted to utilize this space more and not have the liability of someone tripping. Not to mention shoveling had become very difficult. hey were also nervous that would cause water to start flowing toward the home's foundation, potentially causing bigger issues later.
After inspection it was determined that the back patio settlement was due to poorly compacted fill soil, and also it was discovered that their driveway was starting to crack and settle due to a large void across the entire face of the driveway. It was determined that the driveway was poured on a ledge at the face of the garage, and the soil beneath the ledge had settled but the concrete didn't move with it. The space left from the settling soil, had left the large void beneath the concrete. The weight of the concrete and vehicles driving over the top, was the reason for the cracking. Seeing the size of the void as well as the cracking that had started, raised concern and urgency in stabilizing the front driveway as well to prevent further issues.
Solution
The solution for these homeowners was a combination of PolyLevel Injection Foam to lift, level, and stabilize both the back patio and the front driveway. We also used NexusPro Crack Sealant to fill and repair the joints and cracks which will prevent water from getting beneath the concrete in the future.
The homeowners were extremely thankful for the entire process. From the first appointment to the crew at installation. They said they could not be happier with their decision to have Sure-Dry help them with their concrete issues.
