Foundation, Water and Black Mold Issues Eliminated in Theresa, WI

Challenge

The structural integrity of this home seemed to be compromised, leading to the growth of black mold due to dampness in the basement. It is important to note that water was seeping through loosely compacted soil around walls without drain tile at this home. Eventually, if this is continued, it can lead to wall failure, leaks, and water entering the basement. To address these issues, Wanda chose Sure-Dry as their preferred service provider, known for its reliable and practical solutions that guarantee a permanent fix, prompt response, and maintenance of cleanliness.

Solution

A combination of Geolocks and PowerBrace was utilized to stabilize the walls permanently. Geolocks employ earth anchors outside of the wall to pull it back to plumb, while PowerBrace is utilized on walls with obstacles outside of the home, and all the work needs to be done on the interior. Geolocks and PowerBrace are zinc-galvanized to prevent rust and have a 25-year transferrable warranty. A SaniDry Dehumidifier and Air System was installed to manage the humidity and improve the air quality in Wanda's home. Waterguard and a TripleSafe Sump Pump were used to control the water, along with CleanSpace and BrightWall covering to stop water from coming through the mortar joints. IceGuard was used to allow water to escape from a sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. This project was unique because all four walls had movement and water intrusion. We did a complete perimeter wall stabilization, used WaterGaurd for water control, and applied CleanSpace wall coverings.
