Severely Sunken & Stained Concrete Lifted and Sealed in Appleton, WI
Challenge
The sidewalk leading up to the front stoop of this Appleton home had sunk on over 16 inches and was causing a severe trip hazard for this homeowner and any guests coming to the home. The concrete driveway had also sunk several inches, and even though it wasn't as severe, it was causing water to flow and pool right against the home's foundation anytime it rained or snowed. The homeowner was concerned about getting hurt but also what the water would eventually do to her home's foundation and knew she needed to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Solution
After a thorough inspection, it was determined that the soil beneath the sidewalk and driveway hadn't been adequately compacted or sealed when the concrete was poured and had resulted in the soil under the slabs being washed away over time. To fix the issue, and to raise the concrete around the home back up to the correct height, we used our PolyLevel Injection Foam to permanently lift and stabilize the concrete, and then Nexus Pro Joint Sealant was applied to all joints and cracks to ensure that water would no longer be able to get under the concrete in the future. The driveway was also heavily stained with moss which was power washed and then sealed with SealantPro Concrete Sealant to further protect the concrete from water and staining and keep everything looking nice. The homeowner was thrilled with the results and expressed her complete satisfaction, saying that she would confidently recommend Sure-Dry to anyone in need of our services.
