Water & Air Quality Issues Eliminated for Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Foundation in Arpin, WI
Challenge
Sure-Dry received a request for assistance from these homeowners who have been experiencing a persistent issue of water accumulation in their basements over an extended period of time. Initially, the quantity of water was negligible, but it has since escalated. The prolonged exposure to water has necessitated the removal of the finished materials in the basement. The homeowners, who were understandably concerned, informed us that the foundation of their basement was constructed using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF). They were seeking guidance on the most viable options available to address the issue of water seeping through the base of the wall and at the points where the forms joined.
Solution
To fix these issues, Sure-Dry installed our WaterGuard Drainage System to effectively control and prevent moisture from seeping into the basement. In addition, a CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System was installed on the walls to ensure that any moisture that came through was collected and drained into the drainage system, and into their new SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System. This complete system will allow the homeowner to refinish the basement without the fear of further water damage to the wood or drywall. We further enhanced the environment by installing the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to control the humidity in the home.
