Creating a Dry Future in Antigo, WI
Challenge
A family in Antigo, WI had been in their 1906 built Victorian home for three years but were planning to stay for twenty. However, when it rained, seepage along the bottom of the stone and poured concrete walls had put a damper on their finishing plans in the large basement area.
Solution
I put together a waterproofing design that addressed the seepage along the perimeter. Water was also pushing up through holes in the middle of the floor where rotted wood wall posts had created access. We ran sub-floor bleeder lines to relieve pressure and re-concreted in these areas. Our interior drainage system was tied into our Super Sump in a Triple Safe crock, which allows for future back up expansion. Due to their lot line, we put in an Ice Guard and buried discharge to neatly disperse sump water with no ugly hoses that have to be moved or easily freeze.
With the project completed, the family was free to create a great new dry basement space in their lovely old house.
